Cover letter Comic Strip

 

            The comic strip was actually one of the easiest to do for me because I have a pretty good artistic and creative feel. My brainstorm was really simple because it was Halloween I wanted to take something scary and make it all my own. I took my two worst nightmares; Freddy, Jason put them together in our College situation and made it humorous. I just started writing drawing off the get go on this piece.

 

            I knew I wanted to do this all alone didn’t really want help from anyone but a lot of people had really different ideas from mine so I’m hoping that mines would stand out. I honestly read the comic draft out loud and I was cracking up that’s something I thought everyone could enjoy. I really just went with the flow and had to make it short but simple, to have that pack a punch line to get across and convey a different perspective about a person. Here we have two monsters that kill people and one is studying for a mid term.

 

            If I could change anything about this it would be to add color or do more but it is a writing class. I really enjoyed myself on this piece, wish we had more of these because you really have to convey a story in a short but simple comic yet not many people can do that some people take forever to get their point across but this could help with writes as a warm up exercise professional writers not the pictures but more so the message that is why I feel that my thinking and writing grew from this.

Cover letter descriptive writing 

 

            My descriptive writing helped me grow a lot! I have no shortness on brainstorming and having ideas that all me, but when it comes time to organize and set up a writing piece I notice that I lack in this area setting up evidence and plotting big piece I seem to be all over the place so I love the fact that I had the opportunity to settle down use the Inspiration app and get focused on how to properly plot evidences and not be so cluttered.

 

            I couldn’t write straight away I had to break things down and simplify. I need a lot of help from peers and Professor to help me get use to proper formatting and plotting. It was only meaningful because steak is my favorite food and I want to eat it all the time. I wish that I could get more help on this area of writing but using the app to organize and plot was amazing we really need to make use of all our resources.  I felt better about my writing after the exercise being able to develop the evidence in the story and be more aware of my writing format very pleased with that.

            I had a lot of brainstorming ideas for this piece and it really hit me what I wanted to do because im the hugest walking dead fan, so Zombie story it was. I didn’t really want to use this app I just wanted to get right into the story because I didn’t want to lose the idea just keep dishing it out and try to be about my life but in a post Apocalyptic version. So I jumped right in it with the writing and I had no help well at least didn’t ask for any, kept quite in my head didn’t want to over do it with the nonsense and over think situations not all realistic with this story.

 

            As I worked on the piece I always thought about trying to make it as scary as possible I don’t know if it is I just had to throw in best friends dying and people taking there own lives. What really helped me as I was writing was the fact that all the Zombie movies, games came to my head and I had the loads of ideas fighting for a spot in my paper and that’s when I realized I gotta make this thing different or else everyone will be bored. Really meaningful piece to me fun wise. Yet I did really struggle at the end of the story to summaries and get things across.

Cover letter where I’m from

 

            For this piece not really any brainstorming at all. No inspiration app and I really didn’t like this piece at first but for some reason this one just went to my heart I started was bored honestly and then boom! I started to get more in depth with childhood and personal memories. I just started writing and it just flowed on from there. Furthermore I felt that I had a real big idea of what I wanted to do but the more stuff I put down its like you could tell that my upbringings were different then many other people. 

 

            I loved how I started and ended my story a bit of sad and melancholy with a bittersweet happiness throughout the story. I wish that if anything I could change it would be some of my plotting the flow at the begging I think that I could of done better. But it’s a alright paper/poem and as long as I grew and enjoyed myself I feel that it was a well done job indeed. This was a very meaningful piece for me because so much of my personal memories is consisted in the piece its genuine.

Cover letter once upon a time

 

            For my once upon a time story I only had a short time to brain storm and I didn’t have much time to comprehend that another person would be adding on to mines. It was such a funny and awkward situation to actually edit a person story you can turn their story into a mess or a complete masterpiece.  No inspiration was used and everyone just jumped into it.  I read my final story and couldn’t help but laugh the things my peers come up with was genius.

 

            I really enjoyed the final story very interesting funny and goofy. I would change my story next time to be a little less serious and I wish I had more time but at the same time I had my mark on my peers story and yet I feel that I had a great story none the less.  I felt that this was an unexpected masterpiece. I only wish we had more writing exercises like this it was amazing experience.

            All though I enjoy the California living; the new life I have here with school and Football is awesome and a blessing on it own. But sometimes I think what if I haven’t chosen to attend school and continue playing football, what if I stayed back in Hawaii and worked construction and at the fishing docs like all my other brothers before me. It’s a very simple life indeed yet a very honest one, its not that I’m saying that everything should be simple its just that I miss having everything simple and it sucks to wake up without the geckos there at night and the sound of wild boar in your back yard, the smell of mangos being cut up and all in all good family and good company.

 

            It’s the mix of paradise and family that drives me to long for my distant Hawaii. I always thought that Hawaii was a magical place that there is nowhere else in the world; I found that harsh reality out merely a year and a half ago. It was a month out of high school as I decided what would I do with my life I knew two things I wanted to get the heck off this tiny rock and I want to play football. As I rushed in an application to Mt.Sac I thought everything was settled. Then I arrived then the hard reality of being on your own set in. No more family to help you out or comfort you cooking, cleaning, homework was help done by complete strangers, my new roommates.  Life was hard on my own money was tight too I thought if I rushed myself into things but I realized was just completely out of my element.

 

 

Prep

Journal 4 Preparing

 

            This past weekend was a great one; we all had a great time at our forth game of the season against Citrus. We have done a little mistake here and there but we all pulled through to a 38-14 victory over the Owls. One thing that could of made this game even more amazing is if I had a better game. For instance I felt that I really let my team down on how I played I missed two tackles and it has really made me think about preparing better for the next games on our schedule. I understand what I did wrong and I need to do better on my behalf to benefit the team but it all starts at practice and it hurts to say that my reps will probably be cut down until I can show progress on getting better. Preparing in the classroom is key also because if you I don’t go to class I get lazier and lazier and my practices will show that as well.

 

            I know I have a lot on my plate but I’m confident that preparing and using time management will be key to success in what ever I may do I know one thing is for certain and that is that I need to go ahead and set hire goals. I kind of did have a junk week of practice and it sucks that things had turn out the way they did at the game but what’s done is done and where all moving on to the next game against Desert College. Preparing and goals go hand in hand and its goals that make preparing come easy. Like mother always said “a day early is easier then an hour overdue”. But being a college student you usually find it hard NOT to be always an hour overdue.  Long story short is preparing makes things fall into place better if I work hard now things will be easy when I have to preform.  So this week it’s all preparation for me I say.

            When I took the online intelligence survey I discovered two things, that I was extremely in patient and the online plug-ins that were required to see the result diagram was working on my computer at all. So I came to the conclusion that I was a Nature type of person and hands on teamwork if you would say kind of guy. I would explain that because I enjoy working out doors and love survival types of TV furthermore I find working with my hands comes second nature and to be out doors seems to fit just right. I know these things because I understand my own strengths and weaknesses. I know for sure I’m not going to like being in an office for hours at a time that type of working or learning doesn’t fit me. The perfect example to me would be to take a lion from the jungle and put him in the Arctic Circle and vice versa to a polar Bear it just doesn’t work that way.

            It is crazy to think that people can go home and play each other on online video game systems wirelessly. I remember fighting for turns on PS1 very first Crash Bandicoot game at home on a busted up TV we found on the corner of the street from neighbors. It was like yesterday we would all crowd that tiny living room and just scream our heads off till it was time to home homework. Now days just a year after High school I realize how convenient our lives are and how far technology has come for us. The game effects now are even better then some of our favorite movies growing up. Its just a shame that we put all this work into technology for games and leisure rather then focusing on how we can use it to promote issues about how our World pollutions are harming our oceans and marine life.

 

            Using technology in general to solve the crises around the world can help everyone. If 50 years ago we thought Ray Bradbury was crazy about magic boxes that are the size of whole living room walls, that showed stories and pictures was absolute Ludacris would the thought of a machine that can shrink and grow foods to any size or portion be insane the thought of ending world hunger. That magic box that Ray Bradbury talked about 50 years ago is in almost every American household in the United States, yet we know it as plasma screen, 50 inch, Sony, LG etc. to me technology holds the answer we just need to apply our self to it and take time to focus on what it really should be used for.
